5 Yacht Models to look out for in 2019

Each New Year brings with itself some new and exciting yacht launches. As yacht enthusiasts ourselves, we’re eagerly looking forward to the innovative yacht designs to be launched by reputed local and foreign brands this year.

If you’re planning to upgrade your vessel in 2019, make sure you watch out for the following yacht models set to hit the waters this year!

1. Feadship 814

Feadship’s Project 814 has been under construction at the Kaag yard for more than five years. This luxury yacht is nearly 93 meters long and has a 14.1-meter generous beam. Designed by Michael Leach Designs, Feadship’s 814 has a timeless exterior crafted from the finest materials. The project is said to be redefining the boundaries of luxury yacht construction, with its own two-deck IMAX theatre, four VIP cabins and a fully-certified helipad.

The company unveiled it for the first time in October 2018. However, the majority of the details regarding the project are yet to be revealed, as this superyacht is currently undergoing additional commissioning work, which includes the addition of wing stations and balconies.  Feadship’s Project 814  will be launched officially in spring this year.

2. Artefact

Renowned German shipyard Nobiskrug’s latest project Artefact is nothing short of a nautical masterpiece. Previously named project 790, this hybrid superyacht is Nobiskrug’s most technologically-advanced vessel to date. The yacht’s exterior was designed by Gregory Marshall Studio, while UK-based Reymond Langton Design was responsible for its interior design.

Perhaps the most visually striking feature of Artefact is its glasswork section, which weighs around 70 tons and uses more than 223 pieces of glass placed intricately at the center of the yacht. It’s also equipped with a unique Dynamic Positioning System with the help of which the yacht can hold its position without the need for an anchor for a long period.

Technological advancements in design and architectural engineering have also allowed Nobiskrug’s team to keep Artefact’s impact on the environment to a minimum, making it a one-of-its-kind, eco-friendly superyacht. The Artefact will complete its construction this year.

3. 2019 Sunseeker 74 Sport Yacht

This one is perfect for the thrill seekers. While the yacht was first unveiled at the Cannes Yachting Festival held in late 2018, it’s one of the top sports yachts to watch out for this year. The Sunseeker 74 Sport Yacht is capable of delivering a top speed of nearly 38 knots and features oversized pillar-less windows along with a unique, spacious flybridge perfect for entertaining multiple guests.

In addition to possessing an extremely sleek and sporty exterior, the yacht also has a highly flexible interior. Its innovative cockpit door mechanism allows owners to transform it into an ‘open’ or ‘closed’ yacht with the push of a button. You also have the freedom to switch up the below deck configuration to accommodate more guests within the same space.

Sunseeker plans on putting the yacht up for display at the Miami Yacht Show of 2019, along with six other exquisite Sunseeker models.

4. Hattera Yacht’s GT65 Carolina

When it comes to luxury motor yachts and convertible sportfishing vessels, Hattera Yachts certainly takes the lead. Models from their GT series have always been the go-to choice of sportfishing tournament participants across the globe. GT65 Carolina is the latest addition to this series.

Replacing its predecessor GT63, the GT65 Carolina offers unparalleled performance and customizable features for sailing enthusiasts who prefer adding a personalized touch to their vessels. Its advanced glass cock-pit helm array is flush mounted and completely non-glare. The boat also has advanced fish-finding electronics and a convenient flybridge arrangement that makes it easier to control the vessel.

The GT65 Carolina is also incredible living and storage space, as it has a four stateroom along with a three-head interior layout. The design of its tunnel and hull was created by making use of advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), to ensure superior performance and seaworthiness.

Hattera Yacht’s GT65 Carolina is scheduled to debut in fall this year.

5. Princess F45

Princess Yachts debuted this marvel at the Düsseldorf Boat Show this year. The F45 is an entry-level flybridge model with a sturdy resin infused deep-V hull which reduces drag and optimizes lift. While the boat is listed for a price that’s significantly higher than that of an average ‘entry-level’ boat, the F45 is also far more superior to other models in terms of design. It uses twin Volvo IPS600 engines, which allow it to reach a top speed of over 31 knots. At lower speeds, the yacht can be maneuvered intuitively with the help of joystick control.

The fuel capacity of the boat is approximately 1300 liters. Designed for comfortable cruising, the F45 has two large ensuite cabins on the lower deck, which also features a full-beam master cabin. To boost the living space even more, designers have included an electronically adjustable seating module aft, which can be moved back by 40cm to increase the size of the cockpit in this 47ft vessel.
